Obsessed With Obsidian Ridge

Our latest JEEP adventure brought us about 45 mins outside of Edmonton to Obsidian Ridge. We stayed in their Hillside Suite and it was unlike any other place we’ve ever experienced. This one will stay with us for a long time!

It is truly an oasis at Obsidian Ridge. There are a ton of weddings here ( more on that later) but also the opportunity to reconnect with nature and stay in some pretty unique spaces.

Whether it’s a romantic getaway for two or a family vacation; they can accommodate many groups and sizes!

Camping, Geodomes, Villas, Glass Houses, Vintage RVs, The Hillside Suite - even an entire house. They have something for everyone with the promise of a memory you will hold on to for a long time.

OBSIDIAN RIDGE

Obsidian Ridge sits on 30 acres and is a modern prairie oasis. It has an outdoor event venue ( where many weddings take place) combined with eco-luxury accommodations. This is where nature meets elegance.

They have 5 Villas; 2 of which are brand new and offer floor to ceiling windows. They also have barrel saunas, hot tubs and cold plunges exclusive to their villas and accommodations..

There are geodomes as well (* Although at the time of writing this they are currently under construction).

If your group is large; there is “The Manor”. It features 4 bedrooms and can sleep 14!

Vintage RVs are available as well as a wide variety of camping spots.

This place is HUGE.

But perhaps the real show stopper has always been The Hillside Suite- which is the one we were lucky enough to stay in!

THE HILLSIDE SUITE

Imagine staying right IN a hill. That is exactly what is happening here. It truly is like your own little hidden oasis. I took my girls, ages 9&6 and both agreed this was the COOLEST place we have ever stayed.

While it is tiny - it’s mighty! We did have 3 of us in there and it was cozy; but really it is meant for two. There is a super comfy bed, a fireplace, a mini fridge, a microwave, a coffee maker, and. an old vintage bathtub inside. There is electricity and cell service was a little in and out but for the most part pretty good.

Outside there is a wonderful fire pit area (wood not included) with a BBQ (propane included) and your own personal hot tub.

We absolutely LOVED this hot tub. It smelt of cedar and was the perfect temperature. It was REALLY dark out in the country and the star gazing was next level . We loved looking up at the sky that was literally sparkling at us.

If you can book the Hillside Suite - DO IT!

FOOD

There is a small fridge in the Hillside Suite , but anything you cook either has to be microwavable, over the BBQ ( steaks!) or over the fire (Smokies!). Since it was the kids and I we just has some smokies and chips and called it dinner haha. If I was with my partner here, a bottle of wine and a steak would be incredible.

You have to bring your own food, dishes, cookware and utensils . There is food about 15 mins away in Tofield or Camrose.

For the other Villas; there are kitchenettes and full kitchens. It just depends on which one you choose HERE.

PETS

Pets are NOT allowed in the Hillside Suite however in some of the other accommodations they are. Again; just check which one suits you HERE

WEDDINGS

PARKING

There was ample parking for all of the villas and accommodations free of charge. This is a MASSIVE area so just follow the signs!

This was a night and a stay I will remember for a really long time. It was so unique and unlike anywhere we’ve ever been. A little spa in nature; with my two fav girls. Loved it! I’m sure you will too!
