How We Found Our Nanny

One of the top questions I get on the morning show and through Instagram is “ HOW did you find a nanny?” & “How did you know you needed one”?

This blog post is LONG overdue. No gate keeping here!

HOW WE KNEW A NANNY WAS RIGHT FOR US

I work a very early morning job and my co parent works out of town. For the first couple of years, we were bringing our kids to a (fantastic) day home. However, when they started school, having them up at 4am to get to the day home was not ideal for anyone. The kids were tired and the school days were long for them.

So a few years ago we decided to look for a live out nanny. And that’s when Daisy reached out.

HELPING HANDS NANNY & AU PAIR SERVICES

Daisy Davidson is the owner of Helping Hands Nanny and Au Pair Services. She literally held my hand through the entire process.

I met with her and gave her all of our requirements. We discussed if a Live in, Live out or an Au Pair might be better for our situation. For example, for us some of the requirements were very early mornings, breakfast, school drop off and light housework. For you; it may be different and that’s ok1 Daisy was a great guide and works with you to create an ad asking for exactly what you need.

Then she gets to work finding candidates. She posts the job, does the interviews and narrows it down for you.

For us, there were 5 candidates at the end of the process. I interviewed 4, narrowed it down to 2 and then let our kids pick who they wanted ( I loved both haha).

Daisy also helped us with a contract and negotiations.

The investment in finding a Nanny, Au Pair or even just someone to help around the house varies. You can find more HERE .

OUR EXPERIENCE WITH A NANNY

We have been lucky enough to have 3 nannies over the years. The most recent 2 were found thanks to Daisy and I could not be more grateful. It is STRESSFUL finding childcare and Helping Hands has knocked it out of the park. Both nannies have literally become part of our family! One just had a baby this Summer and we are headed over to visit this weekend. I am SO excited. Our nanny’s take the kids everywhere and give them experiences I would not be able to during the day. I am extremely grateful for all that they do for us.

If you are thinking of welcoming a nanny into your home; I highly recommend Helping Hands to help you out in finding the perfect one for your family!
