California Closets: Front Closet Reveal!

I say this every time I post a picture of ANY closet I have in the house. I can’t believe I’m showing this to you. I love things to be pretty and nice…..and I never really realize how bad things are until I take a picture and have to post it.

Thus - our front entrance closet:

Yes- those are my flip flops in an old popcorn container haha. We’ve lived in our house for almost 10 years. This closet was your standard ( perhaps even slightly bigger) coat closet. One big rack for all the coats. Doubled as a shelf for everything else. Easy peasy. Until it just didnt work anymore. Shoes, coats, mitts, hats, scarves, leashes; pretty much you name it and it was everywhere.

Tinda from California Closets had worked with us a couple of years ago when we did our closet and Kennedy’s closet. So I was VERY excited to have her back and for her to work her magic. It is truly magic what they can do. It was a free consultation; she came out to our house, took some measurements and got designing. The entire process took about an hour.

We decided on a long hanging area (for things like winter coats etc) as well as a double hang area for regular coats like jean jackets etc. And LOTS of shelving. Great for storage of shoes, baskets for hats and gloves and pretty much anything you desire. The thing I love about the shelving is that you can adjust the heights so if you’ve got cowboy boots like me; you can accommodate them.

We also added two hook areas for things like Cactus’s leash, harness and other things we may need to grab. That space you see there is kinda dead space so it was a great idea on Tinda’s part.

Another GREAT recommendation was to have a white system overall but for the shelving - use a dark grey. That is where most of our shoes would be going and since they would likely be dirty sometimes ; the grey wouldn’t show as much as the plain white would. It also added depth and style.

Start to finish was 2 weeks - everything is cut and measured exactly to your closet dimensions and cut locally here in Edmonton. Shaun was our installer and he worked so hard on our behalf. This closet system is solid.

It’s important to note that these systems also come with lifetime warranty as long as you live in the home. YES.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. Whenever I heard people talk about their “California Closet” I just thought oh they must be super rich ; those closets are only for the rich and famous. But the truth is; California Closets is for everyone. Normal people like you and me - WITH budgets! YES of course you can jazz things up with lighting, lux finishings, drawers and high end fixtures. But you can also simplify it and get that organization you dream of without breaking the bank.

Stay tuned next week for another reveal as we did our daughter Lilly’s tiny closet as well! You won’t believe how they maximized her space!

xoxo Jacks

*These California Closet systems were paid for by myself however a discount was given.
